Forest Revival
Throughout Africa, Asia and South America, our projects are restoring barren and degraded lands which were not expected to have capacity to naturally restore themselves. These projects not only capture carbon, they improve the local environment through native forest growth while contributing to the wellbeing of local communities.
The improved land management and soil quality mitigates risks of desertification invasion to neighbouring villages while planted trees reduce the risk of severe mudslides.
Projects such as this hold significant co-benefits for people and the environment where tree planting activities attracted over 15,220 villagers from the Guizhou Province of China. Local women made up 70 per cent of those hired and trained and all were renumerated at double the median income rates for the area.
