TEM achieves B Corp certification

B Corp

As team TEM has adjusted to the new 2020 work environment (the cramped home office, laundry bench, outdoor deck, or anywhere with a flat surface and a chair), we have found ourselves collaborating more than ever in our virtual world. We have used this time to work on some long aspired goals and to grow our business.

One of these goals has been to become B Corp certified, a process which requires organisations to turn the spotlight on themselves and every aspect of their operations. I had learnt about B Corps and the philiosophy of using business as a force for good during my studies, so when I was assigned the task of completing our assessment I knew it was something that would really strengthen TEM and prove solid foundations for future growth.

The criteria to meet B Corp certification is based on The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’S) introduced by the United Nation in 2016. Measuring our impact against these goals ensures we are effectively contributing to their success and joining over 3,400 other B Corps globally who have also committed to use their business as a force for good.

Becoming B Corp certified isn’t just a checklist, it’s a measured and verified process, about living and breathing best practice through every aspect of your businesand ensuring a positive impact for people and planet. Whilst the very objective of TEM is to connect people with real action on climate change, we still had many areas to work on and refine. This work involved every member of the team, working together and making their own contribution to our certification. We are very proud to now be part of the B Corp movement, with a score of 95.9.

We view this score as an overall wellness check, which we are pleased is looking healthy, but there are always ways we can continue to improve. We have already set new targets for the future and look forward to becoming a valued member of the B Corp community.
