TEM announces Michaela Morris as new CEO

Leading Asia-Pacific carbon offsetting solutions provider, Tasman Environmental Markets (TEM), announces the appointment of Michaela Morris as their incoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as of Monday 3 February 2025. TEM’s current CEO, Adrian Enright will step into the newly formed Head of Origination role as the organisation looks to expand its Australian and international project development focus.

“It has been a privilege to lead the organisation in a time of transition as we move further upstream into project development,” said Enright.

“During my time as CEO, my responsibilities to my family as a sole parent have become more acute and I’ve worked with the Board to channel my skills into an area where I can drive TEM’s growth while balancing my personal responsibilities outside of work.

Having known Michaela for many years and her outstanding reputation in leading corporate decarbonisation journeys, it’s an exciting time to have her lead TEM.”

Michaela joins TEM after leading Climatework Centre’s Program Delivery team since February 2023 and as a Director at Anthesis (formerly Ndevr) since 2017. Michaela also holds positions on the Board of Environment Victoria and as a member of the Technical Advisory Group for the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).

“Carbon markets play a critical role in supporting decarbonisation pathways of corporations worldwide, serving as an efficient mechanism to channel corporate climate finance. As we look ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be a transformational year,” said Morris.

“COP29 and the important decisions around Article 6, alongside the growth of compliance markets here in Australia and across Asia lay the foundation for significant scaling in both value and impact.

“TEM is considered a leader in high-integrity carbon credits and works alongside some of the largest brands and leaders in corporate climate action across the Asia-Pacific. Leading the organisation at such a critical time of the market’s development is an exciting opportunity for me.”

Board Chair, Andrew Grant spoke of TEM’s growth ambitions and the calibre of Ms Morris:

“Michaela brings exceptional Executive and industry experience to TEM at a time where we are focused on further expanding our impact into key markets across Australia and Asia.

“The Board thanks Adrian for his leadership and guidance during his time as CEO and are thrilled to apply his expertise in a new role critical to TEM’s growth, while offering him balance alongside his personal commitments.”
