TEM supports the Qantas Group in the delivery of their Fly Carbon Neutral customer offset program, and corporate Qantas Future Planet Partnership by providing risk management, project due diligence, offset procurement, retirement, sales and marketing engagement services. In 2021, Qantas Freight introduced carbon offsetting for retail customers, powered by our BlueHalo® technology.
The Qantas Group has been offsetting carbon pollution for more than a decade and Fly Carbon Neutral is the largest offset program of any airline, with a customer choosing to offset their flight every 59 seconds.
Together with their customers, the Qantas Group has offset more than 3 million tonnes of carbon pollution. Carbon offsetting is a key tool in aviation’s global transition to a low carbon economy, and in meeting international commitments of carbon neutral growth from 2020 with a 50 per cent reduction in net emissions by 2050.
TEM developed and continues to evolve a carbon offset portfolio reflective of the strategic priorities of the Qantas Group – including their commitment to support Indigenous economic development through their Reconciliation Action Plan, and the promotion and protection of iconic natural places like the Great Barrier Reef.
Fly Carbon Neutral has been certified carbon neutral under the National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS) Carbon Neutral Program.
