To determine whether you have a viable carbon offset project, please consider the below criteria and contact us if you are eligible.

Piggery

Animal effluent management method
  • Are you thinking about introducing a new method of processing and treating animal effluent from a piggery or dairy?
  • Would the effluent have otherwise gone to an anaerobic pond?
  • Are you thinking of treating the effluent by either capturing methane in a digester tank or covered pond then destroying the methane by flaring or generating electricity, or avoiding methane emissions by removing volatile solids and treating them using an aerobic process?

Cattle

Beef cattle herd management
  • Does your cattle herd graze on pasture?
  • Do you want to improve herd productivity?
  • Are you thinking of introducing a new herd management activity or varying an activity already under way?
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by feeding nitrates to beef cattle
  • Is your beef cattle herd pasture fed?
  • Are you able to feed your beef cattle herd nitrate supplements as lick blocks replacing urea?
  • Has the land where the beef cattle herd is pastured been used for urea supplementation at least once in the last five years?

Dairy

Animal effluent management method
  • Are you thinking about introducing a new method of processing and treating animal effluent from a piggery or dairy?
  • Would the effluent have otherwise gone to an anaerobic pond?
  • Are you thinking of treating the effluent by either capturing methane in a digester tank or covered pond then destroying the methane by flaring or generating electricity, or avoiding methane emissions by removing volatile solids and treating them using an aerobic process?
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by feeding dietary additives to milking cows
  • Are you looking to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions generated by your milking cows?
  • Are your milking cows pasture fed for at least nine months of the year?
  • Are you able to feed at least one herd of milking cows eligible additives in a project year?

Irrigated Cotton

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from fertiliser in irrigated cotton
  • Are you able to introduce at least one new management action in your irrigated cotton crop each year to increase nitrogen fertiliser use efficiency in that year?

Soil Carbon

Measurement of soil carbon sequestration in agricultural systems method
  • Are you looking to store carbon in soil in a grazing or cropping system, including perennial woody horticulture?
  • Are you willing to undertake one or more new land management activities to increase soil carbon?
  • Are you willing to measure the increase in soil carbon?
  • Are you willing to maintain stored carbon for at least 25 years after the first Australian carbon credits units are issued?
Sequestering carbon in soil in grazing systems
  • Are you able to introduce at least one new management action to build soil carbon?
  • Are you able to fund qualified technicians to conduct soil sampling?
  • Are you able to fund analysis of the collected soil samples by an accredited laboratory?
Estimating sequestration of carbon in soil using default values (model -based soil carbon)
  • Will your project be located on an operating farm?
  • Are you able to implement one or more new management actions on the land where the project will occur?
  • Are you qualified, or are able to fund a qualified person, to prepare a strategy for each management action?
