Insuring the future

Through the Qantas Future Planet partnership, TEM has supported QBE in achieving 100% carbon neutrality.

In 2018, QBE achieved carbon neutrality for its business operations through driving energy efficiency, reducing air travel and offsetting over 47,000 tonnes of residual emissions. QBE has set several climate-related targets and between 2017 to 2019 reduced air travel by over 30%, while sourcing 63% of its global electricity use from renewables.

TEM is providing project due diligence, offset procurement and retirement services for QBE’s portfolio that incorporates projects in key geographies in which the business operates, abating greenhouse gas emissions while delivering significant additional benefits for rural communities and the environment.

“QBE is committed to playing its part in addressing the global challenge of climate change. We will continue to deliver our Climate Change Action Plan as we work closely with our customers, partners and the wider finance industry to develop innovative solutions.”
